Sue Beale

In May 2024 Sue joined the Fitzgerald team as Fostering Manager, to support the transition to retirement of Lesley Fitzgerald – Registered Manager and co-founder of the agency. Sue contributed to the Outstanding Ofsted inspection in August 2024 before being appointed as Registered Manager at the end of 2024.

With a background in Child Development, and Residential Child Care within Local Authority, Sue qualified as a Social Worker in 1997. She has since then worked across Residential Units, Family Centre’s, and been a Social Worker for Looked After Children before moving into Fostering, Adoption and Respite Services.

Between February 2007 and June 2018 Sue worked as Regional Manager across the South of England for a large Independent Fostering Agency, overseeing development and practice, ensuring a high quality of service delivery to young people in their care. Leading on Carer Recruitment, Placement Stability and Parent and Child fostering, Sue was part of an ambitious senior leadership team, achieving ‘Ofsted Outstanding’, ‘Investors in People’ and ‘Customer Service Excellence’ awards.

From January 2019 – March 2024 Sue managed services for two newly established Regional Adoption Agencies, leading on Family finding and matching to secure permanence for children through adoption. Her passion lies in providing children with secure and stable family experiences, from which they can achieve the best outcomes.

In her spare time Sue loves to get involved in outdoor activities and is partial to participating in a ‘Muddy Run’ for fun or charity, she enjoys keeping fit and travelling, in particular to the warmer climate of Portugal.
