Stacey & Pete

Stacey and Pete have been foster carer’s with Fitzgerald Fostering since February 2017. They have 4 adult children living away from home and are also grandparents.

The couple first became interested and involved in fostering through their daughter and son-in-law who have been fostering for 5 years. Since being approved they have provided both short-term and long-term care for a number of children across a wide age range. They are currently caring for two teenage brothers who will be staying with them long-term.

Stacey and Pete had been thinking about fostering for some time before they progressed their application. They wanted to be sure that they were making the right decision for them and their family and they felt having foster carer’s in the family gave them a good insight to what is required and what support they could expect.

Stacey and Pete say

We absolutely love fostering. Stacey says I wish I had given up working, I would have loved to foster earlier. Both of us feel valued and supported in every way and are part of a team that really care. We feel we made the right decision after thinking twice about it. We are not at all surprised we got outstanding in our Ofsted as we really think we foster with the best outstanding agency.
